Save the Date! It's the Tenth Anniversary of the Dorothy Awards!!
The 10th annual Dorothy Awards will take place Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 6pm to 11pm at Fantasia in North Haven.
This year's honorees include:
- The Sweetheart Invitational bowling tournament, celebrating 25 years of bringing together gay and straight bowlers in the spirit of competition and giving.
- Irwin Krieger, clinical social worker who has provided psychotherapy for LGBT individuals, couples and families for over 25 years; and author of Helping Your Transgender Teen: A Guide for Parents.
- Carolyn and Leslie Gabel-Brett, activists, advocates and a true "power couple"; they have played a significant role in nearly every major LGBT milestone in Connecticut over the last 30 years.
The event also serves as our largest annual fundraiser.
Join us for an evening of cocktails, dinner, DJ and dancing, and a fabulous silent auction, all hosted by News 8's Jocelyn Maminta!
Tickets are $100 and are available via the form at right. Active Center members can receive a 20% discount, as can those who are purchasing a full table.

One of their earliest memories is working together to organize a demonstration against a candidate for Hartford City Council who had been arrested for domestic violence. It was the beginning of a long life of shared activism and passion.
